12 Foods With Most Pesticides

It seems that in general some of the best natural fruits and vegetables with the softest skins are the most susceptable to pesticide residue. Often the skin contains the most healthy part of the food, peeling takes away most of food benefits. Each year the Environmental Working Group (EWG) releases a new list of “dirty dozen” (pesticide covered)fruits and vegetables. They do over 89,000 tests to determine problematic fruits and vegetables. These are ones you should want to buy in the organic food section of the grocery store.
The first vegetable is celery. While it is not high in vitamins, with the high water content and low calorie content, it will fill you up without extra bulking. The very thin skin allows pesticides to penetrate past the skin to render washing ineffective. To give celery an extra boost consider adding peanut butter for the protein content as well as the monounsaturated fat.
Peaches are high in fiber, Vitamin A and C and are easy for the elderly to digest. Also, peaches can have a laxative or cleansing effect on the bowels. Try alkalizing your diet for better overall health. Go to: for more information click here
