It is a beautiful day and spring is here! I've just started a site on aerobic fitness and wanted to tell you why you might want to try aerobics. Any exercise program will help a person loose weight if you don't indulge in lots of fattening foods afterwords. Of coarse, I always gain at first because muscle weighs more than fat! However, the inches do go down.
Another benefit is that our seniors, and really all of us, have less aches and pain because of aerobic exercising. Keep in mind to not overdo things though. If you have not done any exercises for awhile, start out slow. And yes, it is much easier to be a couch potato. However, once you make yourself get up and get moving, it is all worth it. The buddy system is a big motivator here.
The mental/well being benefits of aerobic exercise will always bring a smile to yourself. If you are exercising with a friend/s you get the double benefit of socializing. You just feel better all over and your resistant to most bugs going around. I often wonder if the positive mental attitude being achieved from aerobic fitness is the 'pill' that keeps you well.
Your energy and stamina will increase as your body becomes more fit with whatever exercise regimen that you follow. There are many choices with many mixing weights with and cardio on an every other day spread, walking, water aerobics, spinning or Zumba or whatever floats your boat. You have to make a plan and if you include a friend or 2, you have others to keep you going. Your quality of life depends a lot on your own aerobic fitness.
